FILL YOUR CORPORATE EVENTS
CORPORATE EVENT MANAGEMENT is knowledge / skills about the management
(management) of organizing events for corporate purposes, including
organizations, institutions, institutions and the like. In the
International Dictionary of Event Management published by John Wiley & Sons
Inc., a corporate event is defined as “an event (event) that is sponsored /
initiated by a company to achieve certain goals and objectives, such as
pleasing customers, introducing, and promoting a product or new services,
providing incentives or training for employees, as well as other company
activities. " There are still many EOs (event organizers) who think
that corporate events are easy to do; same as other events, only
non-commercial.
Corporate Events are often
underestimated by the organizers and are considered easy to
implement. Even though there are responsibilities that are very risky
there ... namely the image of the company / organization hosting the event
(including its reputation and credibility). The organizers are responsible
for maintaining this image without exception. Whoever is hosting the
event! In addition, there are still aspects of corporate culture,
community collective values, working culture of company personnel, corporate
networks in the industry (corporate & business network), and other aspects
that are very necessary. Get attention… what corporate programs are needed
(corporate program).
Company culture influence
the way people think and their daily work processes, as well as how they relate
to other people. Strengthening an existing corporate culture or creating a
new one requires dedication from senior management, supported by a top-down
approach to all aspects of company life. Corporate events are used to
communicate and reinforce this philosophy through various activities / events
such as training (in-house training), awards for employees (appreciation
rewards), and anniversaries. Not all companies agree with the “work hard,
play hard” philosophy. Because corporate culture involves values,
environment, rituals, networks and personality. Because a good corporate
event will strengthen and legitimize the existing corporate culture,
EO or organizers obliged
to design a corporate event that can fulfill and cover all the objectives of
the client's (company / organization) interests and in accordance / in line
with the corporate culture. Please remember that companies use these
events as a means of communicating the company message. And when the
“message” reaches all employees (and their families) and the company's business
partners, without realizing it, the event has expanded their employee's pride,
ambitiousness, ego and even their productivity motivation. Or when the
"message" is addressed to the external public (consumers, customers,
users, suppliers, distributors etc.), then loyalty will be able to be created
appropriately. The role and scope of corporate events varies widely, from
single-events to multi-events under one overarching theme. In order to
evaluate the success of a corporate event, there must be a statement of measurable
objectives. These objectives must be evaluated continuously at each stage
of event planning (pre-event period / event planning period) to ensure whether
the initial objectives remain unchanged.
Corporate programs usually:
Made based on various
internal & external needs of the company / organization
Serene Event Complex is one type of Corporate Promotion & Public Relations Program
(below-the-line / direct approach)
Events are proposed based
on the findings of companies / organizations through SWOT Analysis that require
below-the-line programs, or a combination of non-event programs with events.
Compiled annually for the
needs of the company budget etc.
Thus, corporate events
ultimately have to carry several characteristics that are closely related to
these interests.
PREVENTIVE -
events held for preventive purposes; e.g. In-house training on
improving services for customers (in-house training at the events section,
improving services for customer relations and marketing), which aims to
prevent complaints.
CURATIVE -
event organized for countermeasures; e.g. press conference
regarding an event / disaster / calamity experienced by the company.
EVALUATIVE -
an event held to assess / evaluate; e.g. Appreciation reward event
for employees who excel.
SPECIAL -
events held for special events; e.g. Halal Bihalal, Christmas
together, corporate anniversary celebrations,
product launching. Sometimes there are corporate events that carry
more than 1 character. A corporate anniversary event, when it
involves all employees, invites partners and partners, will carry a
mission of the characteristics of "special" (because it is
an annual special event), and "evaluative" (because it is also a
visualization of the evaluation of previous years of service).
Of course, the involvement
of other sections will depend on the type of event being held. And that
too will depend on several other factors:
How often is an event held
by / for the company / organization? If it's frequent (more than 8
times per year), it's better to leave certain events to professional
organizers.
Big or small the business
scale of the company, or the scale of the organization's activities -
the bigger the scale, the greater the risk to be faced.
Broad or not the network
of the company or organization - companies or organizations that have many
branches will be increasingly complicated and complicated mechanisms.
Has the company /
organization allocated a fixed budget each year for these various
events? If so, then personnel skills are needed to manage
it properly.
It is important to realize
that:
Each company /
organization organizes various events, according to their needs and needs
Each company /
organization has limitations (funds, personnel, knowledge / skills), needs
(various) and work cultures that differ from one another, so that their
work patterns are not all the same;
Each company /
organization has a choice ... DO OWN OR ... ASK FOR EO HELP ..., this choice
also depends on the readiness of personnel, budget readiness and other
readiness.
If in the end we decide to
use EO services, then: Which event can be submitted
to EO? Should EO only do weekly meetings? What EO is the right
specification? Is there an EO who specializes in corporate
events? When should you start involving EOs? Including the concept
and work planning?
