According to Gold blatt (Event Management, 2013):

“Event Management is a professional activity to gather and bring together a group of people for the purpose of celebration, education, marketing and reunion, and is responsible for conducting research, designing activities, planning and carrying out coordination and supervision to realize the presence of an activity."

 

 

Thus event management can be defined as organizing an activity that is managed in a professional, systematic, efficient and effective manner.

Its activities range from concept (planning) to implementation to supervision.

In event management, everyone must work hard with the same vision to produce activities that match expectations.

 

Many terms of mention of event management, including:

a)       Event Organizer (EO) 

b)      Production House (PH) or production house

c)       Communication

d)     Agency / service bureau

e)       Executive Committee

f)        Organizing Committee

g)       And so on.

 

•           Event Organizer consists of two words in English, namely event and organizer.

•         Event means event while organizer means organizer.

•           So literally event organizer is defined as a party who organizes   an event.

•           Or it can be said that the Event Organizer is:

Business in the service sector officially appointed by the client to organize a series of events , from the creative side, preparation, implementation to completion, in order to help clients succeed and realize the goals they expect through a series of events".

 

DEFINITION OF CORPORATE EVENT ORGANIZER

EO was born from the desire of the parties who have some funds . They have several goals that are expected to be achieved by holding a series of events and of course as funders they do not bother to organize the event. It is enough for them to provide a brief briefing regarding the aims and objectives of holding the event, while the creative forms of the event and execution are left to the EO

 

THE ROLE OF THE EVENT ORGANIZER

•           In an event, EO has a very important role, help realize the expected goals owner of the funds (commonly referred to as a client) .

•           EO through a series of events, starting from the process of concept creation, venue preparation, licensing, supporting equipment, artist & talent, documentation, to the running of the event and if needed to the publication of events in the mass media.

 

EVENT ELEMENTS

1.       Why

In connection with the objectives   to be in this event, especially in meeting the needs and desires of the audience.

2.       Who

Regarding each person who will be   involved in this activity, it is also related to the target target, age group, gender, education and lifestyle.

3.    Where

POSITION EO

EO POSITION BETWEEN 5 P

In an event activity, of course there is the involvement of several parties consisting of 5 P. Of the 5 elements of P, the real position of the event organizer will be seen. The 5 P's are:

 

 

1.                  1. Funders

       Issuer funds for the implementation of a program.

2.                   2. Executor

This is where the real EO's position and role. The executor must work hard to realize the dreams and satisfaction of all parties (being the center of all existing parties) so that the executor has a very vital and strategic position.

3.     Performer

Is one of the keys to the attractiveness of a program? All types of programs are very dependent on the viewer. The key event performers can be Guest Star, MC, and so on which are well known.

4.     Audience

Whether paid or free, small parties at home to F1 race level, the audience factor is one measure of the success of the event.

5.     Observer

Observers can come from the press where observers have indirect influence as public relations or PR.

 

Type of event :

Based on the type of size of an event, events can be divided into 3, namely:

1.       Mega Event, is a very big event, giving a big economic impact on the surrounding community or even on the organizing country

and informed and covered through various media broadcasts. Usually this event is held after bidding (competition between several organizers to become the organizer) . For example: World Cup

2.     Hallmark Event, synonymous with the character or ethos of a region, city or area in a place. Regional in a certain area

3.      an event that is able to attract the media to cover in size, attracts a large number of visitors within a certain period of time to attend the event and has a significant impact on the economy.
